Working on using the GE Centricity Web Services to input Vital signs via HL7 Messages

We have a business need to input vital signs from monitors into the GE CE system and the only way it appears we can do that is by using a createObservation web service call. This should be interesting. I will add updates to this post as I learn more.

The GE CE interface API is very functional but the monitor outbound interface for vitals require some custom development outside of Rhapsody so we are not going to pursue this at this time.

We decided instead to capture the replicated data from the findings table and store that in a database which we then poll with an interface built in our Rhapsody server environment. The extracted data is then translated into an HL7 message and sent to the CattailsMD EHR vendor.
